Bret Lobe, representing Omak Youth Baseball, described pressure on available fields and asked for modifications that would allow more flexible use. Public Works Director Wayne Beetchenow had previously circulated proposed changes that include removing the infield grass at Jack Rowe Field. The board expressed unanimous support for the conversion as a way to increase usable practice and game time.
"Bret asked if he could return following the baseball season to discuss what went right and what they feel could be improved for next year," according to meeting minutes. The board agreed that Lobe, Chris Miller and Randy Reed should return at the July 14, 2026 meeting to provide a season‑end report and recommendations.
Board members and Public Works staff also discussed temporary restroom access and the use of port‑a‑potties at the parks; Jarrod Reed, a Public Works crewmember, provided information about existing facilities and recent repairs.
