Commissioner questions $15,000 phone line item; judge explains landline vs device costs

The judge and other officials explained distinctions in communications needs: some offices maintain landlines while other staff use tablets, Wi‑Fi or on‑call phones; supervisors and on‑call arrangements increase device needs. County staff said they are exploring boosters and other connectivity solutions and that some line items reflect landline costs for certain jury rooms and offices that the courts retain.
