Dave Hartung and Faith Phillips of the Wayne County System of Care and more than 30 providers and clients attended the meeting for an Autism Awareness Month proclamation adopted by the Wayne County Commissioners. "They are trying to grow the event and based on the crowd behind him, he thinks they are succeeding," Hartung said during remarks thanking the commissioners.
Commissioner Brian W. Smith and Commissioner Jocelyn Cramer both praised local service providers, naming Devereux Pocono Center and the Human Resource Center for their work in the county. The proclamation was adopted by motion and recorded as carried. The attendees planned a post-ceremony lunch at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
