The Clovis Regional Airport Commission approved an updated lease agreement form intended to make ground leases uniform and less burdensome for tenants, staff said.
Staff member Jared Morse presented the changes and described them as a cleanup of an old template. "So we took the opportunity to clean them up," Morse said, explaining that the team removed three or four unused paragraphs from what he called a roughly 20-year-old document and standardized how tenant rates and construction leasehold improvements are handled. Commissioners moved and seconded approval; the item passed on a voice vote called by the chair.
The revision was presented as a modest rewrite rather than a wholesale reorganization; Morse said the city expects a future FAA model lease could prompt a later update. The item will be incorporated into future ground-lease packets and staff said it should make it easier for tenants to locate rental-fee and construction-improvement sections when reviewing leases.
