The Omak City Council on May 4 approved Resolution No. 36‑2026 finding an emergency condition at the OWP Well after contractors discovered damage to the well pump. Public Works Director Wayne Beetchenow said crews pulled the pump and "found a one-inch hole on one side," and the council voted to authorize emergency repairs so work can proceed before anticipated high water.
Beetchenow told the council additional investigation and repairs are needed to restore the well to full service. Member Steve Clark moved to approve the emergency finding; Member Nattalie Cariker seconded the motion and the council approved it unanimously. The resolution allows the city to expedite repair contracts and limit delays tied to standard procurement timelines.
