Jill, the EDC staff presenter, told the board she received three bids to pave the EDC parking lot across from the playground at 10th and Maple. "That 1 came in at 61,000," she said of the CLS Seal Coating & Striping bid; she reported Loop Asphalt at $50,300 and Hill Country Asphalt (Fredericksburg) at $92,600.
The presentation included details about the planned layout — approximately 45 parking spaces, two required handicap stalls, and two-way access — and noted contractors would need to excavate subgrade in places to ensure a level surface. Board members asked staff to follow up on warranty terms and whether doing both the EDC lot and a city-owned Cedar Street lot together would yield a lower mobilization cost.
Board members also raised coordination issues with FEMA/floodplain reviews and sidewalk grants (TA/RED grants) that intersect some of the same corridors. Staff said they will request additional quotes and warranty details and return with more information.
