Following a closed executive-session legal briefing, the Red Oak City Council considered a resolution to relinquish and adjust parts of the city's extraterritorial jurisdiction (ETJ).
The city attorney read resolution 26-042R and asked council members to vote "yes" if they favored relinquishing ETJ or "no" if they opposed. On the roll call, council recorded four "no" votes and the motion to adopt the resolution failed 0–4. The council did not adopt any change to ETJ boundaries at the meeting.
City staff indicated the matter was discussed in executive session under authorized legal and economic-development exceptions; the council took no further action and adjourned the meeting.
