Supervisors hear secondary-roads update: bridge backfill, short closures possible

Scott Minder's engineer gave the board an update on secondary-road projects, saying the box-cover replacement project is progressing and that backfilling work will continue, with the next bridge possibly closing in the next one to two weeks.
"This box cover fridge replacement project is moving along well," the engineer said, noting crews will be working on backfilling and restoring the roadway. Board members asked about related work, including water diversion and whether detours would be needed for the southern Buffalo Township location.
Members also discussed rural speed-limit postings and UTV limits, with one member noting that UTVs remain limited to 35 mph on county gravel roads and others raising concerns about vehicle design and safety.
