Village officials said they are coordinating with the Orange County Board of Health and plan to remove and assess filter media, replace aggregate and pursue a roughly $9 million grant for additional filters and capacity for the system. The mayor acknowledged old infrastructure and said mains will be replaced in sections as funding and grants allow; VRI staff also reported locating and repairing major leaks and operational savings during recent months.
On Webb Lane the board asked the police chief to evaluate traffic‑calming measures; for the sign proposals the mayor said he would consult the Rotary and DOT and follow up with logistics and funding options. On water issues the mayor said the village is working through approvals and that a backwash/filter assessment will proceed when permitted by health regulators.
