The mayor (Speaker 2) asked the board to approve a one‑week peddler's permit for Greenlight Networks, the secondary internet provider that the village has under contract. He said the company will pay the $500 fee and that the permit approval is contingent on receipt of a certificate of insurance; trustees moved and approved the permit on voice vote.
"There's a fee of $500 which they are graciously gonna pay," the mayor said while explaining why the village would grant a short‑term peddler's permit for a vendor already under contract to provide utility service to residents. The board approved the permit pending paperwork.
