The Grundy Center City Council approved two items intended to improve police operations on July 7: acceptance of a quote from Global Software for a TAC10 software upgrade and authorization to purchase a used 2023 Dodge Charger Pursuit.
Mcdonald moved and Smith seconded Resolution 2025‑33 to accept the Global Software quote for a TAC10 upgrade. Chief Natvig told the council the upgrade will improve communications between the city police department and the county sheriff's office and eliminate the need for officers to duplicate reports across incompatible systems. After the upgrade is installed, annual support is expected to cost $900 per year. The motion carried five ayes.
Mcdonald then moved and Smith seconded Resolution 2025‑34 to authorize purchase of a used 2023 Dodge Charger Pursuit advertised by the Kansas State Patrol. Chief Natvig said the Charger (advertised at 49,000 miles with a V6 and police lights) would replace a 2019 Ford Taurus that has experienced high repair costs; the department plans to transfer the camera, computer and rear‑seat cage from the Taurus to the Charger. The motion carried five ayes.
