Council adopts no-parking rule at Sports Complex; resident raises wheelchair access concern

On third reading the council adopted Ordinance 584 to add no parking along the north side of 235th Street adjacent to the Sports Complex. Rasmussen moved and Mcdonald seconded the third reading; the motion carried five ayes.
Mayor Eberline acknowledged visitor Barb Beenken, who raised an accessibility concern: "difficulty in pushing a wheelchair in the grass with no concrete paths or bridge to attend games farthest to the east." Councilors discussed how smaller towns manage fields without sidewalks and said they will determine next steps following a ditch project. The council did not amend the ordinance at this meeting.
