Bethel Park adopts ordinance adding stop signs at new elementary school entrance

Council adopted ordinance 8-10-26A amending the Bethel Park Municipal Code, chapter 65, article 9 (stop intersections), to allow installation of an always-stop control intersection at Kings School Road and Jasmine Drive.
Mr. Jenkins said the stop signs are proposed at both directions at the entrance to the new elementary center opposite Jasmine Drive and that the change reflects recommendations from a traffic study conducted in anticipation of the new school. The clerk called the roll and the ordinance carried 8–0. The school was noted in discussion as set to open on Sept. 3; the ordinance gives the borough the legal authority needed to install stop signs at that location.
