Tea Area students highlight national competitions at board meeting

At the Tea Area School District 41-5 Board of Education meeting, students from multiple co-curricular programs gave presentations under the "Titan Spotlight" segment.

A student presenter said the chapter competed in a public service announcement contest and that "we went to Portland" and described networking and career-exploration opportunities. Board members praised the students for representing the district at the national level.
SkillsUSA participants and their coach outlined competition formats and technical requirements for welding and related trades. The coach, identified as a board member of SkillsUSA, explained that judging includes following blueprints, weld quality and a written test; he listed students who qualified at state and attended nationals, including Parker Wilson, Landry Coy and Nick Jones.
Agriculture teacher and FFA advisor Clayton Sorum introduced chapter officers Camry Knight and Cadence, who summarized the chapter's national convention activities: days of service removing invasive species, industry site tours, motivational speakers and team-bonding events. Camry Knight reported the chapter will be recognized as a two‑star national chapter and the students are preparing the award application packets.
The presentations highlighted student achievements and were followed by board appreciation and photographs.
