Mr. Cenci moved to approve installation of an always-stop control at the intersection of King's School Road and Jasmine Drive; the motion was seconded and then advanced as Ordinance 8-10-26A to amend Bethel Park municipal code Chapter 65 (stop intersections). The council approved the ordinance by an 8-0 roll call.
Explaining the change, Mr. Jenkins said, "These stop signs are gonna go in on King School both directions at the entrance to the new elementary center, which is directly opposite of Jasmine Drive. These are things that were suggested by the traffic study that was done in anticipation of the new elementary school, and it takes an ordinance from the borough to put stop signs in." The transcript notes the school is scheduled to open Sept. 3.
The ordinance implements a traffic-control change tied to school safety and traffic flow at an identified entrance; the transcript records no public comment or opposition during the item.
