The building official provided a brief update on construction conduct, permit processing and inspection activity. Staff reminded contractors of village code provisions governing hours of work and neighborly conduct and said permits have been busy: 23 permits processed between July 8 and Aug. 5 generated nearly $7,000 in fees; the fiscal-year-to-date total in permit fees was reported as $51,921.20, and 26 inspections were completed during the reported period.
The official urged residents and contractors to review code chapter language online and to contact staff for investigations of after-hours work. Council members were directed to the attached report for additional detail; no formal action was taken at the meeting.
