Plymouth Township Council approved a motion Aug. 10 to hold the Second Annual Plymouth Township Native Tree Giveaway on Sept. 26, 2026, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Plymouth Township Building, 700 Belvoir Road in Plymouth Meeting. The program was approved at a cost not to exceed $4,000.
Councilmember Winchester, who moved the item, said last year’s inaugural giveaway was successful and the Environmental Advisory Board (EAB) did a strong job organizing it; Winchester added the township will increase the giveaway from 50 trees last year to 60 trees this year. The motion passed by roll call with all members recorded in favor.
Council encouraged residents to watch for email notices and plan to attend; the trees are native species selected to support local landscapes.
