Council authorizes indemnification agreements to allow subsurface testing for sewer interceptor bids

Plymouth Township Council approved motions Aug. 10 authorizing the chair and township manager to execute indemnification agreements that permit prospective bidders to perform subsurface testing ahead of a sanitary sewer interceptor project bid.
Assistant/Staff Clark explained the agreements are standard, require bidders to restore areas disturbed during testing, include temporary construction easements and indemnify the township from damages arising from the testing activity. Clark identified two prospective bidders requesting testing (Jay Owen Bradley and Eurick Inc.) and said the agreements protect the township while allowing bidders to better estimate ground conditions that may affect bids.
Council recorded roll‑call votes in favor of both indemnification agreements and noted the agreements are a routine element of pre‑bid site investigations.
