Development services reports steady activity in Sendero and other commercial projects; staff to brief commission on drainage standards

Planning staff gave a routine development-services update highlighting active projects in Bastrop: foundations for a Chewy's in Sendero, Westlake Dermatology tenant improvements, a new McDonald's proposed near Sendero and 969, and a 60,000-square-foot expansion for the Colson Factory industrial site. Staff said site development and tenant finishes are underway and that several zoning verifications and occupancy certificates were issued or in process.
Given repeated public questions about drainage during the meeting, staff said they will present an overview of the city's drainage requirements and Atlas 14 rainfall standards at the upcoming code-rewrite workshop on Dec. 16. Staff asked commissioners to review materials ahead of the workshop and offered to meet with commissioners individually to prepare.
