Council approves temporary access agreement so hotel can rehab access across city lot

Council considered and approved a resolution authorizing a temporary access and use agreement for city-owned property to Bastrop Executive LLC to provide access to a proposed hotel behind the CVS.
City Manager Sylvia Carrillo described the request: "Bastrop executive is putting the hotel in the green box. This is the hotel that's behind the CVS. They're asking for a temporary access easement across city owned property. They would like to purchase that in the future. However, we are not at appraisal and other legal documentation ready for acquisition at this point." Staff said the company will clear the access area and improve drainage in return for temporary use.
Council member Foster moved to approve the item with small edits to sections 1.1, 1.4 and 2.1 of the agreement; the motion was seconded and council voted unanimously to approve the amended temporary access agreement as part of the consent agenda.
The resolution authorizes the temporary access and leaves potential future acquisition subject to appraisal and legal documentation.
