The Electricians' Examining Board reviewed an application from Workforce Continuing Education & Development, LLC for an NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code 2023) continuing-education course and voted to table the application pending revisions. The board directed staff to work with the provider to amend the program so that examination questions focus on common code violations from the board's adopted rules and to correct Knowledge Check items that currently use only metric units. "The Board directed the board staff to speak to the provider about amending the program," the minutes state.
Board members said questions should better reflect common violations and the rule set the board enforces; they also noted that the Knowledge Check choices were all metric while the code and practice in Maine reflect both metric and standard units. Chuck Daigle moved to table the application; the motion passed 5-0. The minutes record no additional conditions or timeline for resubmission.
