Demolition contracts and CDBG change order advance under state cleanup grant

The commissioners approved two demolition contracts and a change order connected to neighborhood revitalization and state demolition funding. Resolution #185-26 authorized All Excavating & Demolition, LTD to demolish structures at 0 Bond Street and 100 Shady Acres Drive (McComb) for $18,800 under the PY2024 Building Demolition and Site Revitalization Grant. Resolution #187-26 authorized demolition of three properties in Findlay (123 W. McPherson; 11841 CR 252; 1003 Bank St.) at a cost of $30,300. Phil Johnson described the McComb properties as a former bus garage and an unused clubhouse owned by the school. Both motions were approved 3-0.
Commissioners also approved Resolution #186-26, Change Order #2 with Helms Construction adding $9,450 to a Community Center Building project in McComb that is funded through the Ohio Office of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program. Resolution #188-26 authorized entering into the Ohio Department of Development Building Demolition and Site Revitalization Program Grant agreement (DEV-2025-222877) for the 2026 program year. The minutes reflect the dollar amounts for each contract and the board’s unanimous approvals; implementation details, contractor schedules and grant reporting requirements will be handled by staff under the CDBG program.
