Board puts two Children & Youth Services contract renewals on August 11 consent agenda, including $3.69M Wardell contract

Leah Raker asked the Board to approve two contract renewals for Children & Youth Services and the Board voted to add both items to the August 11, 2026 consent agenda. The first is a Wardell and Associates, Inc. renewal totaling $3,689,074 for independent living, residential and reunification services for dependent/delinquent youth for July 1, 2026–June 30, 2027; funding is State $2,572,935.85, Federal $26,520, and County $1,089,618.15.
The second is a contract renewal with Centre County Youth Service Bureau for placement, non-placement and JUMP services totaling $2,225,604 for the same period; funding is State $1,823,871.35 and County $401,732.65. The Board did not vote to approve the contracts at this meeting but moved them to the consent agenda for formal adoption on Aug. 11.
