Board hears reports on CPI training, new principal appointment and PTO formation

District leaders reported that 67 staff members completed CPI training and three are certified trainers; Dr. Vanessa Frye was introduced as newly appointed to Steger Intermediate Center; the PTO formalized bylaws and officers and district enrollment was reported as 1,506.
Director of Student Services Jennifer Hering told the board that 67 staff members have completed CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) training and that three staff members are certified as CPI trainers to support district-wide implementation. Hering also described the district’s partnership with Infinitec to provide free technology support to families.
Superintendent McConnell introduced Dr. Vanessa Frye as newly appointed to Steger Intermediate Center and noted she recently earned her doctorate in education. The PTO reported completion of bylaws and elected officers (President Carrie Baine; Vice President Shannon Scarborough; Treasurer Elizabeth Crossin; Secretary Davina Harris; Membership Coordinator Kiara Graham). The board recorded district enrollment as 1,506.
