Mayor William Joyce told trustees the village is preparing an ordinance for electric bikes and will open the proposal to public comment at the next Committee of the Whole meeting.
"We are working on an ordinance for electric bikes that will be coming up at the next Committee of the Whole Meeting where it will be opened up to the public for comment. It will be on our website. If you want information, it will be at the next meeting," Joyce said. The mayor asked residents to consult the village website for details once the draft is posted.
The minutes do not include text of the proposed ordinance, timing beyond "the next Committee of the Whole meeting," or staff recommendations; the board did not vote on any ordinance language at the Aug. 4 meeting.
