The Jericho Board of Education approved a resolution to retain NYS Pool Management to provide lifeguard services for the 2025–26 year after trustees heard why an outside vendor was needed and how it was selected. The motion, read by the board president, resolved that "Jericho Union Free School District retain New York's NYS pool management to provide lifeguard services for the 25, 26 full year and directs the board president, me, to execute the attached agreement on behalf of the board." Mr. Jin moved the motion and Mrs. Citron seconded it.
Facilities/athletics staff told the board they solicited three quotes after district staff who previously lifeguarded were no longer available and that the chosen vendor was not necessarily the least expensive but fingerprints all lifeguards ahead of time. The board president noted the three bids are included in the board packet and called the question; the board voted and the motion "carries 4 0." The board encouraged community members to sign up for Community Swim once services are in place.
This action is recorded as a contract award; the motion was moved by Mr. Jin, seconded by Mrs. Citron, and passed by a 4–0 tally. The board noted no further public action was expected before moving briefly into executive session later in the meeting.
