Students and PTAs highlight homecoming, awards and upcoming events

Students from the middle and high schools provided updates on clubs, athletics, and upcoming events. Emma Zu, a student council co-president, introduced the high-school report and noted recent wins for the football and soccer teams and a successful pep rally.
'My name is Emma Zu, and I'm one of your student council co-presidents for the 2025'6 school year,' she said as she described the pep rally and homecoming activities. The students also highlighted awards: two students won a $6,000 grand prize for a documentary project and others received recognition in statewide contests. Aileen Gingold, president of the Joint PT Council, described PTA membership drives, upcoming fundraisers and a health and wellness fair planned for Oct. 22 with Northwell and the Katz Institute for Women's Health.
The student and PTA presentations emphasized volunteer involvement and upcoming district events such as the blood drive on Oct. 7 in the Sam Springer Gym, open to donors age 16 and over with a signed permission slip.
