Skaneateles board signs off on summer concerts, orchestra and car show

The Village Board unanimously approved a slate of summer events including the DeSantis Orchestra gazebo performance (Aug. 16), weekly Community Band concerts (July 3–Aug. 28) with school bus transportation, and the Skaneateles Cares Car Club show (Aug. 8, rain date Aug. 15).
The Board unanimously approved several community events for summer 2026. Resolution #2026-21 authorized the DeSantis Orchestra to perform at the gazebo on Aug. 16, 2026; Resolution #2026-23 approved the Skaneateles Community Band concerts on Friday evenings beginning July 3 and ending Aug. 28, 2026, including requests for bus transportation and setup support; and Resolution #2026-24 approved the Skaneateles Cares Car Club annual car show for Aug. 8 (rain date Aug. 15).
Event organizer Sue Dove told trustees the car show has met its fundraising goal ‘‘to raise $250,000 to pay for the Golisano Children’s Hospital playground,’’ and that the club plans additional regional charitable support. All event approvals were carried on unanimous votes (4–0). The Board also approved the Chamber of Commerce's 2026 events calendar (Res. #2026-22) as previously presented.
