Shoreham trustees receive updates on hazard-mitigation surveys, Sea Grant QAPP and DEC beach-permit work

Trustee Thomas McManus told the board that the village is participating in Suffolk County's multi-jurisdictional hazard-mitigation planning process and will distribute the county's public survey to residents; the county requested completed surveys be returned by March 6 for its review.
Separately, the board heard that work on the Long Island Sound Resilience Project (Sea Grant) is awaiting a submitted Quality Assurance Project Plan for EPA review, with approval expected by March–April 2026. The DEC beach-replenishment permit is also in progress and requires updates from the village's agent, Thomas Cramer. The building-inspector transition was noted: new inspector John Jarski is working with longtime consultant Brad Hammond, who is expected to end his tenure at month's end but will remain available for consultation.
