Neighbors raise commercial-use concern as Skaneateles board reviews conservatory residence plan

The Village of Skaneateles Planning Board reviewed a site-plan application Feb. 5 from 104 West Lake Street LLC to construct a new conservatory residence at 104 West Lake Street. Chairman Stephen Hartnett opened the item at 6:35 p.m.; several nearby property owners attended and one neighbor asked to speak during the matter.
A neighbor voiced concern about potential commercial use, “wondering if it would be used for commercial purposes.” Architect Andy Ramsgard replied that the project was intended as part of the family estate and “it was meant for the family estate, and to indulge their passion for gardens.” The board did not take a formal vote on the application during the meeting.
