Todd, a presenter, told the board that buildings are cleaned and prepped for the school year, described phased facility work, and said assessment data seen by staff will become public on Sept. 30. Todd said preliminary results show gains in student performance and moving students from lower categories into higher ones.
Board members asked about opting out of state assessments; Todd estimated opt-outs are low—"less than 10 and probably closer to 5 in the elementary"—and said the district will report more detailed results in November. Todd and Jim also discussed staffing: the district has filled several openings, has run recruitment posts on social media, and will continue interviewing to cover remaining vacancies before school starts on Sept. 1.
