Authority reports 747 vouchers leased, 100% reinspection pass rate and rising maintenance workload

In management reports the authority said it currently has 747 Housing Choice Vouchers issued and leased; staff also noted eight vouchers are being issued now and plans exist to project‑base mainstream vouchers in Commerce Village developments. Staff reported 49 inspections completed last month with a 100% pass rate on reinspection and described recent maintenance activity: 119 work orders in August, more than 1,000 year‑to‑date work orders, and six emergency work orders that were typically resolved within 24 hours. Managers said some recent problems—such as a sewer line issue at a property—required contractors but that maintenance staffing and processes are handling the workload; the board discussed contracting decisions for large repairs and monitoring vacancy and eviction situations at certain properties.
