The board discussed procurement and pricing. A procurement/operations official (speaker 7) said the vehicle is listed on Sourcewell/state contract with a base contract price of $17,849.76 and that required accessories, a front‑end loader, mid‑mount mower and a backhoe bring the final assembled price to about $32,843.19. He added the town is encouraged — though not strictly required — to use state contract pricing when available.
After questions about attachments and timing (so the new unit will be ready for spring and summer work), Supervisor called for a voice vote; the board approved the purchase by voice.
The new machine will replace an aging piece of equipment and is expected to reduce ongoing maintenance costs. Staff said the tractor was budgeted and that acquiring it now would ensure readiness for the upcoming season.
