Jourdanton ISD cautioned TIA payouts may require short-term use of fund balance
Summary
At the July 13 board meeting, a district presenter said Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) payments for qualifying teachers will be disbursed in August and that timing of state reimbursement may force the district to draw on fund balance temporarily; board received the update as non-action.

Pepper Jo Bauerle presented a briefing to the Jourdanton ISD Board of Trustees about the Teacher Incentive Allotment and the district's cash-flow implications.
"She explained that TIA funds for qualifying teachers will be paid out in August," Bauerle told the board and said state reimbursement timing means the district "may need to utilize fund balance to cover the payments until reimbursement is received from the state." The board did not take action; the item was for discussion only.
The presentation flagged a near-term budget timing issue rather than a policy decision. Board members scheduled budget workshops as part of a broader calendar update later in the meeting, signaling that the district will review cash-flow options during upcoming budget planning sessions.
