The Village Board of South Blooming Grove conducted required procedural business July 14, approving several motions and scheduling a forthcoming public hearing under EDPL §201. Motions included opening the public hearing on water and sewer rates (moved by Mayor George Kalaj, seconded by Trustee Zalmon Rosner), closing that hearing (moved by Mayor Kalaj, seconded by Deputy Mayor Abraham Weiss), and passing Resolution No. (054) to reschedule the EDPL §201 hearing related to a County of Orange parcel. The abstract was accepted by motion and the meeting adjourned at 8:27 p.m.
Votes recorded in the transcript showed the motions carried with four ayes and one absence (Trustee Yitzchok Feldman) for the resolutions and adjournment. The board did not adopt any rate increases or authorize a taking at the July 14 meeting; staff were directed to continue work on meter replacement, vendor procurement and coordination on potential well access, and special counsel was authorized to advance the procedural steps required by EDPL for the Gonzoga Park matter.
