President Bruce Dowdy and trustees approved a $2,000 donation and granted a temporary liquor license to the Stonington Summerfest committee for June 12–14, 2026. Jodi Rusher and Jenny Prasun, the event co-chairs, asked the board for the same street closures as prior years, dumpsters and continued village assistance.
The board recorded the motions and votes as unanimous (6-0). The festival theme will be “Party Like It’s 1776,” and the Grand Marshals this year are the American Legion and Auxiliary. Trustees discussed logistics and authorized the requested street closures and resource support as part of the motion to approve the donation and license.
