The Stonington Board of Trustees voted Feb. 2 to approve a tax-increment financing reimbursement covering 50% of eligible project costs for Beer Vault Saloon LLC.
Superintendent Jake Heberling told the board the total eligible project cost discussed was $271,913 and that the board members had agreed to focus the reimbursement on work to the front and back of the building and roof repairs. Trustee Tara Ramsey moved approval of the application and Trustee Tammy Wilson seconded. “Motion passed with a roll call vote that went as follows: Wilson ‘Yea’; Graham ‘Yea’; Ramsey ‘Yea’; Grover ‘Yea’; and Callan ‘Yea’,” the minutes record. The approved 50% reimbursement equals $135,956.50.
The board’s discussion narrowed the scope before the vote; no additional conditions or changes to project scope were recorded beyond that focus. The TIF application had been tabled from the Jan. 5 meeting and was resumed for final action on Feb. 2. No public opposition or appeal was recorded in the minutes.
The board did not record any follow-up reporting requirements or timelines for disbursement in the meeting minutes; the Superintendent and Village staff will handle the next administrative steps.
