Council approves BiblioMation membership for Edith Wheeler Memorial Library

The council voted to authorize the First Selectman to execute the BiblioMation rules of participation and e-commerce policy agreements for the Edith Wheeler Memorial Library’s online services. The First Selectman said the library director provided the agreement and that BiblioMation is Connecticut’s largest library consortium offering online catalogs, digital collections and resource sharing.
The town attorney reviewed the matter and provided an opinion letter; the resolution (26-078) passed 8–0. The library will implement the consortium services according to the membership terms and provide updates to the council as appropriate.
