The council voted to accept an active transportation microgrant announced by MetroCOG and the Connecticut Department of Transportation that will provide up to $5,000 toward the purchase of 25 bicycles and 25 bicycle helmets for the police department. "This grant will provide funding up to 5,000 for the police department's purchase of 25 bicycles and 25 bicycle helmets," the First Selectman told the council.
Officials noted the grant will help offset recent police night-out purchases and that the town attorney reviewed the agreement. The resolution (26-076) was adopted unanimously in the recorded voice vote.
