The Town of Charleston Planning Board on Oct. 8 said it has received a consultant draft of the town’s comprehensive plan and assigned the Comprehensive Plan Committee to review it and meet with the consultant next week.
Committee members Amanda Peterson and Mike Martuscello will examine the draft and bring any recommended adjustments to the full board. Survey responses used to inform the draft are not yet completely tallied, the board said. A bus tour to review and help identify hamlet boundaries is confirmed for Saturday with a 9 a.m. departure; participants were asked to arrive by 8:45 a.m. and a printed route and itinerary will be handed to attendees.
Board members framed the work as part of an effort to clarify hamlet boundaries and other land-use guidance that will guide future development decisions. No vote on the draft plan was recorded at the meeting; the committee review and the follow-up meeting with the consultant were presented as the next steps.
