The Sodus Point Planning Board unanimously approved Nov. 18 a preliminary site plan to add a second story to a single‑family home at 7105 Bayview Drive and forwarded the application to the Zoning Board for formal review.
Daniel Pope, speaking for owners Marcia and David Breckenridge, described an addition that includes an elevator and raises the building to an overall peak of about 28 feet. The submitted design keeps the existing footprint but adds a second floor with a north side setback of 9.5 feet where the code requires 12.5 feet. CEO Kevin Druschel referenced Code 190‑30 on changes of existing use and indicated that, in his view, the project did not require a variance. William Kedley moved to approve the remodeling per the stamped plans; Janine Fogarty seconded and the motion passed unanimously (Evener, Kedley, McKee, Fogarty — all aye).
Marcia Breckenridge said she and her husband are relocating back to Sodus Point after retirement and previously raised cattle in the Midwest. The board recorded the approval and noted the case will next be scheduled before the Zoning Board for any remaining zoning checks and formal sign‑off.
