Chazy board schedules May 19 budget vote, approves resolutions to send propositions to voters

The Chazy Union Free School District Board of Education voted March 10 to set Tuesday, May 19, 2026, from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the CCRS Music Room as the date and time for the districts annual budget vote and school board election. The motion, made by Jason Bruce and seconded by Chris Demers, carried unanimously.
Board members also adopted two formal resolutions to place propositions before voters at the annual meeting. RESOLUTION #1 will present the districts 2026-2027 budget proposition; the resolution directs the District Clerk to advertise the full text of the propositions in the required notice. The text for RESOLUTION #1 in the record states the budget sum is "an amount to be determined." The board approved January 2026 financial reports (Monthly Financial Summary Memo, Treasurers Monthly Reports, Appropriation Status Report) prior to adopting the resolutions.
Kaitlin Tetrault, the district business manager, presented the financial materials that the board approved. The boards action establishes the procedural steps required to put the budget before qualified district voters on May 19, including advertising the propositions in the Districts Notice of Annual Meeting.
