Hamilton County staff told the Drainage Board that two previously authorized reconstruction contracts could not be completed as bid because of insufficient funds and recommended canceling both contracts. The board approved cancellation motions for the Hortonville contract (entered Oct. 28, 2024) and the West Arcadia Miller arm contract (entered Dec. 20, 2024) by voice vote.
Staff explained that the work could not be constructed in its entirety as originally bid and that the recommended action was cancellation rather than partial completion. A board member confirmed staff had discussed the matter with the contractor, who had indicated verbally they had no issues with the cancellation.
