On July 20 the Maquoketa City Council approved a resolution authorizing purchase of a John Deere 325 Skidloader from Martin Equipment for $68,900 (Resolution No. 2026-94). The motion was made by Council Member Kuhlman, seconded by Council Member Lyon, and carried 6-0.
The council also approved Resolution No. 2026-95 authorizing the City Manager to approve change orders for the 2026 Maquoketa Street & Utility Reconstruction Project provided no single change exceeds $10,000. That resolution (motion by Lyon, seconded by Hayward) also passed 6-0. The change-order authority is discretionary and intended to expedite small adjustments without returning every minor amendment to council for approval.
