Superintendent outlines staffing changes; board approves CSE recommendations

TheriJo Snyder, the district superintendent, told the board April 2 that declining enrollment in some elementary grades may lead to abolishing an LPN/aide, an elementary health position and two elementary teacher positions as the district moves some grades from two sections to one. Snyder said staffing changes include rolling an elementary position into special education and that the revised guidance staffing should save about $13,000.
Snyder said she is also "looking to tuition in special education students (low function not behavioral) from neighboring districts to help generate revenue." After entering executive session to review personnel and CSE matters, the board approved Committee on Special Education and Committee on Preschool Special Education recommendations for two cases, recording placements for a preschool student with a disability (speech) and a student with a learning disability (speech).
The board approved multiple personnel appointments and extracurricular assignments as part of the consent agenda, and accepted the resignation of Dakota Jicha from auditorium lighting effective March 6, 2026.
