The Cherry Valley‑Springfield Central School District Board of Education voted April 2 to reallocate excess funds from the district's 2024 capital project to replace the elementary gymnasium floor at a cost not to exceed $85,000. The board found the reallocation would not change prior SEQRA findings.
TheriJo Snyder, the district superintendent, told the board the architects were unable to attend that night and reiterated the board's specific action was required because the gym floor needed to be identified in the resolution. Snyder also said the elementary gym bleachers "will be removed and not replaced." The reallocation was approved by roll call and recorded in the project resolution.
Board members discussed ongoing capital work across facilities — including a re‑pour of the elementary sidewalk, window repairs, new playground equipment and correction of misaligned bleachers — and confirmed the gym flooring replacement would be funded from existing project balances rather than a new bond.
