Scott Adair provided a series of brief updates across several ongoing initiatives: Live at Juilliard concerts (attendance noted between about 600 and 1,400), roughly 70 special events permitted so far this year and the Ross Street pedestrianization pilot scheduled to run Aug. 14 through Oct. 31.
Adair also said the one-stop shop business portal, including a business concierge and an economic dashboard, is near launch at the end of the month and that the capstone promotional video will be published with that launch. He reported the Lyft agreement negotiating phase is complete and the contract is moving to signature, and staff received 11 proposals in a tourism strategic-plan RFP; a selection committee will shortlist three finalists for interviews.
On the USL (United Soccer League) opportunity, Adair said the exclusive negotiating agreement remains active through September and that USL is still identifying an owner to participate in further discussions.
The committee thanked staff for progress and asked staff to return with relevant next steps for entertainment zones and other items planned for full council consideration.
