CTE presenter says cooperative ranks among Indianas top districts and manages $184,000 grant

Bob, the districts CTE presenter, told the board the cooperative oversees 14 CTE instructors and dozens of programs across four high schools and that the work supports students into jobs, college or the military.
"As a district, we get about a $184,000, to spend on CTE programming across the 4 schools," Bob said, explaining he is the grant administrator who writes and divides the award. He described the "CTE trifecta" the state measures (credentials, dual credit, and work-based learning) and said the cooperative ranks near the top among the states 54 CTE districts.
Bob gave outcome figures for the most recent year to illustrate program quality: 178 industry certifications passed (with some students stacking credentials), more than 3,200 CTE dual-credit hours (predominantly at Ivy Tech) and over 15,000 student work-based learning hours districtwide. He listed high pass rates in specific credentials, including a 100% pass in a personal-trainer credential and a 6-of-6 pass rate for EMT certification.
Board members praised the results and asked technical questions about how funds are spent and tracked. Bob said he allocates money for personnel and professional development but emphasized most of the grant this year was earmarked for materials and consumables, and that equipment over state thresholds requires different accounting.
