The Lewisville ISD Board of Trustees voted unanimously on June 1 to uphold a Level II decision and deny a Level III student grievance appeal. The Board noted the Texas Legislature has not granted the Board the authority being sought in the appeal.
Minutes record the motion: "Motion was made by Ms. Sells, seconded by Ms. Proznik to uphold the Level II decision and, therefore deny the Level III appeal, as the Texas Legislature has not granted the Board the authority." The motion carried unanimously (7-0). The Board also directed Superintendent Dr. Lori Rapp to review district policies, practices and support available to administrators engaging in Behavioral Threat Assessments.
