The North Liberty City Council voted on March 10 to approve resolution 2026-22, which authorized a standard contract form between the city and Shive Hattery Inc. for park shop and water maintenance shop additions tied to the Cherry Street firehouse effort.
Mayor called for the motion; the resolution was moved by Fortney and seconded by Wason. The clerk read roll call and the vote was recorded as five ayes, zero nays. The contract approval formalizes the professional services relationship needed to finish design and proceed to CMAR solicitation.
City staff said the shop additions are intended to provide temporary apparatus housing and storage so the fire station construction can proceed in a single phase. Staff will return to council with procurement documents for the Construction Manager at‑Risk process and schedule milestones once design documents are finalized.
